JMD served Caltrans by preparing the design of traffic handling plans along Commercial Street as part of the widening of US-101 and the construction of a new bridge for the Eastside Light Rail Project in downtown Los Angeles. The traffic handling plans required additional phasing to meet necessary construction sequencing. In addition, JMD was responsible for coordinating design efforts with Caltrans, LADOT and the Contractor. LADOT had the ultimate responsibility of approving the traffic handling plans. The project was completed within an expedited and unprecedented four-week schedule. The Traffic Handing Plans were prepared in Microstation format per Caltrans standards.
